Description
This is not a “follow-the-checklist” education role.
HCCI is looking for a highly autonomous education leader who can step into complex conversations with physicians and subject matter experts (SMEs) and translate their expertise into exceptional learning experiences—with minimal direction.
If you are someone who gets things quickly, asks smart questions, and moves work forward with urgency, you’ll thrive here. If you need heavy structure, detailed step-by-step instruction, or prefer simply facilitating what others tell you to do, this role likely won’t be the right fit.
This is a full-time remote role; candidates residing in Illinois are strongly preferred.
ABOUT HCCI
The Home Centered Care Institute (HCCI) is a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to home-based primary care (HBPC) for medically complex patients. HCCI is helping bring this model into the healthcare mainstream through education, consulting, data analytics, and advocacy.
Education is central to this mission—and this role sits at the heart of it.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director, Education leads the design and execution of HCCI’s continuing medical education activities—including online learning materials, webinars, and workshops for healthcare professionals across the country.
But the real work goes deeper than logistics.
You will work directly with physicians and subject matter experts to shape their knowledge into learning experiences that are clear, accurate, practical, and impactful.
This means you must be comfortable holding your own with experts, guiding conversations diplomatically, and ensuring the final product meets a high instructional standard—not simply checking boxes or publishing what someone hands you.
What Success Looks Like
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Operate with a high level of autonomy
- Quickly grasp complex clinical and operational concepts and translate them into effective learning materials
- Communicate confidently and diplomatically with physicians and senior experts
- Guide SMEs through an instructional design lens, helping them turn their vision into effective, high-quality education
- Balance multiple initiatives with urgency and precision
- Work collaboratively while owning outcomes
- Care deeply about accuracy, quality, and zero-error execution
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the bridge between expertise and education—bringing structure, clarity, and instructional design thinking to complex content.
